Clinical Nurse Executive

Scope of the Job:
This position reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and will be based at corporate headquarters in Louisville, KY.   The Transitional Care, Clinical Nurse Executive will develop, maintain, and evaluate an environment of excellence that supports the company and clinical segment.  The incumbent will ensure that nursing services are in alignment with organizational priorities, goals and objectives, as well as State and Federal regulations. You will be responsible and accountable for the management of nursing practice, nursing education and professional development, nursing education and the implementation of evidence-based practice, and nursing administration of nursing services within the specified segment.

You will:

Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives that improve the customer experience, enhance work flow, and/or improve the work environment.

Management duties including, but not limited to, hiring, training and developing, coaching and counseling, and terminating department staff, as deemed necessary.

Ensure that all employment practices and corrective actions are administered fairly and without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, marital status, amnesty, or veteran status in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.

Provide evidence-based clinical expertise to segment consultants and segment teams that promote optimum outcomes of patient care.

Assist CNO with strategic planning, existing program revision, and new program design and evaluation.

Analyze business processes and delivery of care within a specified region and initiate appropriate action based upon results.

Guide and mentor segment consultants as they provide both clinical and operational support to their assigned facilities.

Interpret company policies and procedures to segment team, consultants, facility leaders, and staff to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Deploy resources to ensure that the most critical needs are addressed in collaboration with the segment Chief Operating Officer (COO) and segment team.

Actively participate with Home Office departments and segment teams to provide feedback and recommendations for development and implementation of new initiatives, policies, processes, and systems to ensure compliance and successful outcomes.

Apply management and clinical expertise, education, research, and consultation to optimize clinical/operational outcomes.

Provide guidance to consultants, segment team, and facility leaders in solving problems, refining existing processes, and developing new programs that stabilize or improve clinical, reimbursement, and compliance results.

Act as a liaison between Home Office, facility staff, and segment teams, specifically consultants.

Assess and provide the resources needed for consultants to excel in supporting and directing facility staff to provide the best possible patient care.

Develop supportive working relationships with other segments, Home Office executives and staff to ensure high quality patient care.

Other special projects and duties, as assigned.

Candidate Requirements:

We seek a seasoned nurse executive with a minimum of 5 years of experience in long-term care/geriatrics.  Supervisory experience with a geographically dispersed workforce is preferred.

We seek a clinical executive; a Bachelor’s in Nursing is required, Master’s in Nursing or other graduate program is preferred.

Active RN License and currently registered in state(s) employed.

Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements.

Experience in data analysis, program evaluation and strategic planning.

Effective verbal and written English communication skills.

Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook, Internet and Intranet navigation.

Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives.

Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions.

Ability to deal with new tasks without the benefit of written procedures.

Approachable, flexible and adaptable to change.

Function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders and vendors.

The successful candidate will be adaptable, politically sensitive to enable effective work relationships with a variety of stakeholders and constituencies.  The incumbent will possess superior consultative and management skills.
