DIRECTOR, NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Scope of the Job:
This position, located at company headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas reports to the Director of Corporate
Development and Strategic Planning. You will be expected to:
· Search for business opportunities within the Life Sciences market.
· Evaluate, coordinate and negotiate the acquisition or licensing of new services, products,
technologies or companies.
· Search for new service, product or technology offerings that fit company strategic needs.
· Partner with R&D, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Regulatory and Operations to coordinate the
initial evaluations of new opportunities.
· Partner with Legal to negotiate Confidentiality Agreements and Letters of Intent for
viable opportunities.
· Coordinate due diligence efforts.
· Partner with Legal and respective Business Leadership, participate in the final
negotiation and execution of definitive agreements.
· Upon successful acquisition or licensing, coordinate internal and external press releases
and transition opportunity to appropriate secondary champions.
· As necessary, participate in agreement re-negotiations.
· Maintain the New Business Development section of the website for acquisition/In-licensing
needs and divestiture/out-licensing opportunities.
· Participate in strategic planning.
· Write business plans as necessary.
Candidate Requirements:
1. We seek a professional with a minimum of 5 years of productive Lifescience industry deal
making experience resulting in the creation of company value.
2. We seek a Lifescience executive with a 4 year degree and preferable an MBA, coupled with
broad knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology segments.
3. We seek a professional with a thorough understanding of intellectual property, legal,
commercial evaluation and the financial aspects of transactions.
Compensation:
A compensation package will be designed to attract outstanding talent and will include a base salary,
performance bonus, stock options and an attractive benefit package.
